Roof Safety Line

Roof Fall Arrest and Fall Restraint Systems

A roof safety line is a cost effective, visually unobtrusive way of gaining safe access to a roof.  Fall Protection Solutions design, supply, install, certify, test and maintain roof safety lines.   As a roof safety line is a safety critical installation it is important it is designed and installed by experts.  Fall Protection Solutions will ensure your roof safety line is correctly designed and fitted to give you a safe and compliant means of accessing your roof.   A connection device which forms part of the system allows the operative to pass intermediate brackets without having to disconnect or clip past.  This way continuous connection is achieved.

All our lines are certified for roof fall arrest purposes to the latest standards, although we will often place them in such a way that your operatives can work in restraint i.e. a fall is not possible.   We partner with highly reputable manufacturers such as 3M Capital safety which provides a level of quality assurance and engineering in keeping with Fall Protection Solutions’ ethos.

Roof safety lines and fall arrest anchors are mounted on posts which are designed to limit the loads transferred to the roof in the event of a fall.  These posts can be clamped to standing seam roofs, rivet fixed to trapezoidal metal roofs or  fixed through membrane or felt roofs to the plywood or concrete below.  In the case of membrane or felt roofs, the posts and fixings have been designed to minimise thermal bridging and the posts to be easy to dress so as to achieve long term weather tightness.

Each roof fall arrest or fall restraint safety line system is designed with the clients objective in mind.  Once installed we provide the working at height PPE and end user training to ensure full compliance with the Working At Height Regulations.

The standards applying to our roof safety lines are BS EN 795:2012 and CEN/TS16415.  All Systems are designed to BS7883 and The Working At Height Regulations 2005.

As part of a roof access strategy our clients will often request a fixed roof access ladder to be installed at the same time as their safety lines.
